sudden urge to post something

I FINALLY WOKE UP EARLY!!! like damn early, 6, 6.30am? these few days don't really need to go to school and so auto wake up super late, always brunching. AND thanks to waking early, i finally have the chance to go macs n spend my money on a cuppa, which ive been swearing to do since tuesday, which has been quite a failure =-= n just nice dad was back frm thailand ytd =)

ok since i got up early n spent so much money on mccafe, i should mug n i did manage to mug a little at macs, then i have to come back home to get my electronic devices, which i forgot haiz brain not working early in the morning. but before i mug, just felt like posting something short. n im gonna attempt to do it in korean, bet its broken like shit though T.T sadded...

ok lappie is getting low on batt, n i spent a whole lot of time trying to figure out the correct words n forms to use for my korean paragraph that doesnt really say much =-=

but to wrap up, here's wad i wasted my time on last night: nail art and halloween makeup!

LOL

im lagging behind a lot studies wise T^T
ever since i started to work on my lab reports like last last week(?), i started to be able to really concentrate when im doing my report but once i turn my attention to doing something else like e-lectures or assignments, i get really distracted by youtube haha

then this week aft i finally submitted the last of my 2 reports, went to catch a movie with YT. that was two days back. n today, went to watch again with her haha r we rich? nope she was on a roll with winning movie tix!!! haha didnt really think of doing reviews but today's movie was really not too bad haha had fun watching it =D so thought i shld rave a little abt the awesome song i heard in the movie.

=======================================

the movie on tues was "the grey" starring Liam Neeson (the guy behind Aslan's voice frm Narnia)
well, it was really just ok. perhaps i read the synopsis (or rather the whole plot, including tt last scene aft e credits were done rolling), so i sorta knew wad to expect. but omg i really did nearly jump outta my skin at certain parts. n despite the movie being pretty deep in meaning (or there was none n i was thinking too much), it got a bit boring at parts n draggy. but ok la haha the snow was awesome~ n e effects of transitioning from like being in bed with his wife n then getting back to the snow place was WOW (0:46 of the trailer below). but yea not a movie i wld pay for if i knew wad was coming...hm 2.5/5? im being nice...here's the trailer, it looked exciting enough though n really made me anticipate the movie. maybe that's why im disappointed, cuz the movie dragged on for 2 hours, too long. n with great expectations come disappointment.

=======================================

the movie just now was short n sweet, the pace was just nice too. its a remake of a 2008 film that was a remake of a 1980 film itself. both the 2 older films were french. thought the movie might suck cuz it was miley cyrus acting (not that i hate her, but i find it weird to stare at hannah montana on screen when its actl not her). but it was pretty nice n VERY farnie haha. totally understand why its NC16 HAHA zomg the chicken =-=
n the song inside the movie!!! that was AWESOME. n seriously they did a great job at lipsyncing, cuz apparently the song wasnt sung by tt douglas booth guy AT ALL. the nice song is called "heart on fire" by Jonathan Clay, an unsigned artist i think, saw his page n his explanation while searching fervently for that wonderful feel-good song. take a look: http://www.jonathanclay.com/#/tvmovies/lol-movie-trailer-song-miley-cyrus/
its near the end of the trailer "im crazy for you all this time~"

hopefully the soundtrack will get out soon cuz i seriously wan to hear tt song again badly T.T
other nicer songs i heard in e movie were Keane's somewhere only we know n Supergrass' alright. which were both featured in the french version too. hmm maybe, just maybe, when i have time ill watch the french version just to see n compare compare.

=======================================

to end my post damn abruptly as im reminded of the need to start mugging again, IM STILL RAVING OVER HUNGER GAMES OMG OMG OMG
i really really hope the movie lives up to my expectation n take my breath away...the trailer's background music when they show the Capitol and all quite depressing. i like. hahaha dystopic marh. only the casting baffles me, katniss looks too old (altho apparently suzanne collins chose her for her maturity that katniss supposedly is to possess) n then peeta is abit too short (altho he used to look cute in bridge to terabithia, i cannot believe its the same little boy, damn with his height he can be the next daniel radcliffe, cashing in on a trilogy...n the farniest thing is that the two leads, each dyed their hair colour to fit the roles. Josh Hutcherson dyed his dark brown hair blondish color while Jennifer Lawrence who is naturally blonde, dyed hers brown.

FINALLY FOUND ONE VIDEO THAT ALLOWS EMBEDDING ARGHZ

NOW MUG.

"The Descendants"

first win of 2012! =)

got a chance from omy.sg to catch the preview of "The Descendents" starring George Clooney. The name itself made me sign up, although I didn't really get the synopsis haha. I used to like reading up on the movies I'm watching but this time I didn't so that I went in with pretty much no expectation.

Movie was really just ok. Some parts were funny and the actors did a pretty good job except for the roles of Scottie and Sid. Those two had cringeworthy parts...understandable for Scottie since she is still young (but hell she knows how to point her middle finger well, most prob part of the reason this film is rated NC16). For the role of Sid, that guy just made some parts really awkward. N I just get a whole feeling of dumbness just looking at him. Thankfully, Alex was pretty good and her parts with George Clooney are full of chemistry, fully portraying the initial estranged relationship which blossoms into a camaraderie betwn daughter n father while keeping each other sane, trying to find the guy the mother/wife was having an affair with.

Plot wise, nahhh. No twists n turns n stuff, pretty bland. Haha or perhaps there was a deeper meaning to the story or it struck a chord with American audiences, because apparently this film is pretty highly rated after its release in 2011. As always, things reach SG a little slower...T.T
I guess since it is based on some novel, it doesn't stray off too much as well thus the lack of twists n turns. I think the only major O.O part was where Alex revealed that her mum was having an affair, n that's also where all the searching for "Brian Speer, with a double E" and the rest of the movie begins. N the link betwn the selling of the land handed down over generations (reason for the title of the movie) n the affair is made known in the later part of the movie, which i find a bit stretched. Might be from the novel too so cannot blame them. Perhaps the novel had a richer plot but it might be hard to squeeze it into a movie n thus certain details were left out. Amazingly this movie felt really long but it was around 2 hours only. Think the slow development and the laidback feeling Hawaii and all things relaxing like the music caused this haha

Loved the scenery though, really really nice~ but not enough was shown haha the music was commendable too but after a tired day at school, it sorta lulls me to sleep~~~very hawaiian, apt since this movie is based in Hawaii.

Overall, in my humble personal opinion, OK only lah~ but yea watch it to decide for urselves! since it's highly rated, there must be a reason.

If interested, do catch it when it starts showing in cinemas on January 26. Happy Chinese New Year in advance!!!

Synopsis:
From Alexander Payne, the creator of the Oscar®-winning SIDEWAYS, THE DESCENDANTS is set in Hawaii and follows the unpredictable journey of an American family at a crossroads. Matt King (George Clooney), a husband and father of two girls, must re-examine his past and navigate his future when his wife is in a boating accident off Waikiki. He awkwardly attempts to repair his relationship with his daughters - 10 year-old precocious Scottie (Amara Miller) and rebellious 17 year-old Alexandra (Shailene Woodley) - while wrestling with a decision to sell his family’s land. Handed down from Hawaiian royalty and missionaries, the Kings own some of the last priceless virgin parcels of tropical beach in the islands.

When Alexandra drops the bombshell that her mother was in the midst of a romantic fling at the time of the accident, Matt has to take a whole new look at his life, not to mention his legacy, during a week of momentous decisions. With his girls in tow, he embarks on a haphazard search for his wife’s lover. Along the way, in encounters alternately funny, troublesome and transcendent, he realizes he’s finally on course toward rebuilding his life and family.
