1st day (25/8)
Took airport limousine bus to Daejeon after hot choco at airport’s kfc.
Went to e guys’ hall first, split into two groups for taxi and the other grp got lost =-= Had a lot of trouble with the admin staff in trying to help change rooms for the guys so they could be roomies with each other and not strangers, kept getting directed to wrong places (e uncle said that we should go to N21 when the dorm we were at is N21, in e end from N21 à E21 à E11 haiz n e correct location was only realised after we asked a student). Got there then was told that they needed to come back with e roommate ie must get their permission too, must be a mutual thing, sian max.
Finally got to my dorm but they were useless as guys cldnt even enter haiz so ownself lug up, e elevator was so far away that I think it doesn’t make sense =-= anw met my roomie and went to eat a super late lunch (think it was near 4pm le) with e guys at burger king on campus n much later went out for dinner tgt with roomie n guys.
Frigging depressed n embarrassed at e dinner as I cldnt understand e auntie at all T^T issit so hard to order bbq? Ohmien n im gonna take topik soon, GG. Think she said something like the meat cannot mix and will put separately something liddat. Aft dinner we went to nearby mart to buy stuff, think it was homeplus express. Aft buying stuff we stopped for dessert at cold stone creamery, they v sweet helped me buy an icecream cake to properly celebrate haha =)
2nd day (26/8)
Had an uber cheap yet filling breakfast n met an exchange student from mexico, he said he went SG not too long ago n was told he looked lik a malay. When I asked him if he felt offended or anything, he said he din even noe wad a malay was >< nice…
Lunch was at e school cafeteria, cheap not bad haha shopped at e sch bookshop thingy for necessities then went to orientation, just went to listen to briefing on admin stuff n fell asleep haha n had pizza for dinner (dinnoe it was e first of many times ill be eating pizza in korea O.o)
3rd day (27/8)
Saturday was here n we set off to seoul, us 5 tgt with roomie n e other guy total 7 ppl. Took mugunghwa instead of KTX cuz booking fail, no space le. Booking of accommodation also FAIL end up had to lug around our luggage for whole day T^T. whole day was quite a blur, confused regarding where we went too haha =-= had to refer to e pics I took ><
we went to try to find e theatre showing “ballerina who loves b-boy” only to find out that e map we were referring to was updated only in 2003 n e theatre was showing some kiddy show somemore hahaha then we wanted to try Nanta n went to e nearby Gangbuk Jeongdong Nanta theatre that we walked past but was quite ex so din watch. Went to deoksugung palace to take a look at the changing of guards ceremony n also took a tour of e palace with two cute little girls aged 13 n 15 as tour guides. It was some free service to foreign tourists =) then we walked to sme river thingy n stopped by a tourist info centre where I made a free call back home! =D awesome ahha then we went namsan tower, attempted to find khuntoria’s lock but I din watch e episode so no idea man =-= n my camera battery was already really quite dead zzz. Din go all e way up n also din manage to see e water fountain show thingy as it was sorta like cancelled or sth. Apparently went myeongdong or somewhere (still v blur) n window shop ard, saw masks selling frigging cheap but considered tt we have one more day to lug stuff ard so din buy T^T. ended e day at dragon hill jimjilbang, played saboteur then attempted to sleep but it was really too frigging cold on e floor with no mattress (saw ppl have those + pillows but duno where they got it or if need extra $$) so end up like no sleep ><
jimjilbang experience: wah this deserves a whole new paragraph, its really unique ahem. Given tt ive only known my roomie for like less than 2 days, this was weird haha but we covered up real well XD we both brought our own towels too so cld use a lot to cover woots but was still disturbing to see so much skin walking ard just liddat. Their hot soaking bath with all e different uses was quite shuangs but we felt uneasy so din enjoy all of them nor follow e “steps” that they suggested we follow. Only soaked in one after bathing n then rinse before going to e common area to meet e guys then play games then sleep in common area. Since it was too cold on e floor, roomie n me attempted to go into sauna room to sleep but it was also quite warm. I actually fell asleep but awoke in sweat n noticed my roomie not beside me le >,< she was already buay tahan outside le haha end up e longest period we could sleep was like on some arcade game thingy de sofa material backrest, sad notz…
4th day (28/8)
next day was lotte world! Heng not so shag although actl only slept like 3 hours max bah. n we actl forgot to go to star avenue omg but I think it shld be sian too rite…since its lik standees T.T ohmien shopped at lotte mart haha weird but our shopping mostly lik at shopping marts =-=
5th day (29/8)
Had medical checkup, mistakenly thought some banana milk the counter had on it was for those who had finished their checkup n nearly took to drink. End up was for their own students who went for checkup le so paiseh haha. Aftnn omma (大哥) n appa (二哥) went to fetch omma’s fren who he has never met before haha so left us 4 wander on our own. went emart to stock up on breakfast at night heh.
6th day (30/8)
Morning had another info session before lunch n it was frigging pizza, from e nearby DDDN pizza =-= That fren is an international student frm msia n she helped us get phones w/o requiring alien card n it was cheap! Cuz put a refundable deposit only n the phone is pretty decent, rates considered same same as in SG. 1ST time we got to go west gate woots~ broke my bottle at hp shop (arghs shld have brought ntu bottle) n had to help clean up e floor T.T then aft tt WALKED to the nearest homeplus to shop, haiz see e kinda places we always go? Haiz n at night AFTER bathing, appa 아빠/二哥n me tried to teach 四哥 n roomie to cycle since the next day was city n campus tour n they said tt we were supposed to ride bicycles for campus tour n so happens these two duno how to ride haha. Roomie tried learning in SG n came to korea with lotsa bruises. Aft running ard with them n sweating a little went to sleep liddat haiz shagged.
7th day (31/8)
City n campus tour! Our grp had e city tour before campus tour. Went to some donut place called Krispy Kreme. Seriously, Koreans love donuts or sth de, dunkin donuts is lik everywhere. So is baskin robbins O.o I still rmb e one in clem mall haha. Aft tt, main highlights we went to would be cinus ba, some movie theatre n then homeplus =-= go shopping agn haha n the tidbits we were supposed to buy got used as snacks during the dinner they had at night diaoz, nice…use us to help buy stuff rawr.
Aft tt was campus tour~ they said had to ride bikes but those who din noe how to ride could ride in e campus police car. Total only used the bike quite little leh, spent more time on completing missions, but I realized tt kaist really is quite hilly n I cld cycle w/o pedaling for quite a while when I go downhill. Uphill is killer must use push de =-=
dinner was pizza AGAIN =-= but this time was healthier not so oily, called wad pizza maru haha n e wrap up party after tt had free flow beer, stupid la, they wrote unlimited free beer, sundae etc etc in e email n e “unlimited free” happens to apply only to the first item. WTH. I dun drink can =-= wasted, went just for e sundae but need money grr. E whole place was made into a clubby area, not tt ive been to a club but yea its dark n noisy, fits e description of a club. N there was this Korean lady walking ard with a very thin piece of cloth as her TOP. N nothing else inside =-= it’s quite unsightly can, even er ge/appa commented. Anw we left early to go drink coffee ourselves, super shag le.
