50th post!!! INCEPTION

wow singapore is flooding =-= seriously we dun have to wait much longer till 2012 to die...

now suddenly got a flood of nice movies showing/coming soon T.T shld have kept that free movie tix longer but wq had to go back to america too soon T.T abit wasted on shrek =-=

just watched the 12:05pm show at GV grand with dad n uncle. it costs lik $10 per tix plus the booking fee haiz...at first din wan to go watch until my dad said its inception we're gonna watch if we're ever gonna watch at all. *eyes become O.O n mouth gaps to drool* wah just nice that my stuff for today was cancelled cuz fren got sick, not that im happie that my fren is sick but just happie that things fall into place. nearly went to vivocity cuz i tot gv grand was vivo's =-= i confused it with gvmax. dad n uncle comprained that i chose too close to screen de seats argh. ok i found it ok leh...

REVIEW!!! before i forget =-=
firstly, definitely worth the $10. although i wld have liked it better at the sweet student price of $6.50 T.T but i noe thats not a choice with the job i have...anw, ppl! GV has offer on weekends. if u buy on9 with visa card, buy 4 tix charge u only 3 de price. provided they still have complimentary tix. which means hor, u fast enuff then can get lik weekday night de price to watch on weekend. sadly, my mum din wan to go, n the complimentary tix were no longer available also...
ok reminder hor, not spoiler yet...go into the theatre with a blank mind. dun think too much just watch the movie closely. cuz aft i got home and started googling it to find out that cute guy's name and came across a forum, i realised that there were many details i din bother to ask abt. but somehow it made sense in the theatre anw. i think that the trailers work in a way as they dun really tell u much but then agn its enuff for u to roughly grasp the idea of the movie? as in u noe that its abt stealing/implanting ideas in ppl's brains. though the scenes of my cute guy flying up and then stuff exploding ard leonardo in a cafe doesnt really make sense until u watch the movie. for goodness sake, i din even think it wld be that action.

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
ok to the main point. i think extraction is an interesting concept. being able to go into dreams n then steal stuff lik ure really stealing stuff in the real world. then inception gets even better. the plan of implanting a thought is so delicate but of cuz the movie din really focus too much on that. it was just briefly said in a discussion, lik those ppl are geniuses n found out very fast how to implant an idea without making it seem lik they're the ones who implanted it n not the person himself thought of that idea de...

n talking abt that, i tink that the whole BIG plot behind this movie quite dumb. wad kinda motive is this to implant an idea into someones mind just for some personal selfish gains. i mean its not even lik taking over the world or something liddat...but its oso good that the initial motive is so simple cuz the idea of the process is hard to digest at first thought. esp the first few scenes that were lik abit confusing cuz they dun really start at the beginning n then during the first 30mins, ure already thrown the idea of a dream within a dream. n then in the next 1hour, u learn of 3 levels of dreams. before they execute the 4th level as well towards the end. n thing to note is that when ure entering someone's dreams, their subconscious does realise that theres a foreign object (you) inside n will start attacking u soon.

loved the fact that the movie isnt all awe-inspiring or touching that ull cry kinda thing. but makes u realise that hmm yea life is delicate. n most of all, loved the effects sia...anti-gravity rocks! the rest is CGI so not really impressed. dun think anti-gravity can be faked ba? not sure. but that was where my joseph gordon-levitt's part is important haha. but the part where the earth became lik flat n square where ellen page n leonardo tried crossing over to the other face of the place was abit fake. but since it lasted lik wad, 0.05seconds? so ppl dun really care...

movie was abit long though but same for those depth kinda movies i guess its lik u have to devote this much time to understand the concept well. n even so, it isnt really enough as after the movie ended do i realise that perhaps i werent all too sure abt some parts of the movie either...like why ellen page's character, ariadne, had to jump together with Fischer in the 4th level dream when they were supposed to just wait for the "kick" from the 3rd level (the explosion on the snow-capped mountains) to wake up. n i dun really understd which level exactly it is that Saito was stuck in and grew old in...cuz the setting was lik his own dream, not really others' so thinking if falling into limbo meant just going back to ur own dreamscape. think it might have been mentioned in the movie but i just missed it...n if it is indeed Saito's own dreamscape. how did leonardo get there anyway? @.@ confusion here...oh n i dun get the fuss abt the ending. i think its really just ended there lik on purpose so that ppl dun get to see if the totem (correct spelling rite) falls n if reality as leonardo's character sees it is actually another dream. i mean, its supposed to make u start wondering if mal (leonardo's character's deceased wife) had the correct theory n that reality isnt reality at all...

ok there were some farnie parts, those usual small jokes inside the movie that lightens the mood of cuz haha i especially loved the "kiss me." *kisses* "they're still looking at us" "well, it was worth a try" and the "i bought the airline. what? it just seemed more appropriate" XD ok u nidda watch the movie to actually get it and i din get it word for word. the first one is the convo between ellen page's and joseph gordon-levitt (squeals) 's characters. oh, but i din really lik the fact that there were a few scenes that were used lik more than once. one scene is that of the ppl's hands flying as they're sleeping in the first dream, in the van. n one other one is the children. duno how many times they reused that footage...

somehow hor, the movie succeeds in keeping us on the edge of our chairs as they show the impending kick for all the 3 levels of dreams going to happen n then leonardo's character hasnt finished up the business. although perhaps half the theatre din really think too much abt why it matters so much that leonardo is not finishing his stuff n he's falling into limbo. the sound effects are good. the varying volume n stuff. n abt sound, the scores were by Hans Zimmer but i din really take note anyway hahaha pirates' soundtrack was nicer =D

main thing ure supposed to learn frm the movie is that u carn just mess with other ppl's thoughts i guess. how dangerous it can be when an idea that u just insert in their brains can grow lik a cancer n take over the person, as the movie puts it.

ohya i went on the internet n only read parts of pages 8 n 9 of this forum (http://www.nolanfans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=1958&start=80) b4 i wrote this post n i realised the weird part abt ellen page having to jump to kill herself at the 4th level when she's supposed to be waiting for the kick itself...Saito's part i tot of it myself while watching the movie, bet there must be some good explanation somewhere on the site but i haven read it yet...now off to read wikipedia~

ok back frm wiki. wow. so the idea was from so long ago de...n they say wad the director had influences frm movies of that time that was abt our world being a fake O.o ok really inspiring material huh =-= n inception was supposed to be a horror film O.o ok wld have loved it anyway i guess...

ok spent enuff time on inception ahha n reading wiki abt its effects of hte anti-gravity thing wow stil dun really get how they get the flowy feel but yea kudos...n high-speed cameras rock!!!
